  1. I envy you….my desert mounts higher….filling my boots….dragging me, slowed, to nearly a crawl…as, conversly, life sand pours more quickly thru the glass…..ah God….memory is double……curse & blessing in one……LONELINESS engulfs…taunting, even, that horrors be relived….for ALL that I loved, lived for, laughed about, looked forward to, is DEAD. Wish I knew how to download text, would save what you have written it is SO BEAUTIFUL. Thank you.

  2. The joy lies in the arms of Jesus and the fact that He is the resurrection and the life. Therein, dead things find new life, so long as His plan and will accord them so. However, if something is dead and should remain so, He hands us so much more in place of all that we have lost. When one leaves the desert, they discover Him standing in the cool of the cedar trees of Lebanon, arms thrown wide, streams of living water flowing forth, and rest in His calming presence. And, in the slightest whisper, we hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Feast on the fruits of My righteousness and rest.” If the journey through the desert weighs heavily on one’s soul (or should I say when?), there is great comfort knowing that He remains faithful and by our side despite the harshness of our desert wilderness and He will lead us out, so long as we surrender the dead and dying along with the living and let Him do as He wills.
